Summertime in Lake Worth Beach Park: A Local's Guide

Have you ever been to Lake Worth Beach Park? While it's not the biggest public beach, it's certainly one of the best in town. It's also surprisingly close to downtown Lake Worth, so I'm going to give you a guide on what to do here and why you should check it out this summer if you live in the area.

Fun in the Sun

At Lake Worth Beach, you can go fishing or take a long walk on the Municipal pier, enjoying the views of the ocean. There is plenty of parking ($2.00 per hour) and lots of nearby restaurants such as Benny's on the Beach, Mulligan's, and Mama Mia's Pizzaria as well as Kilwin's Chocolates and Ice Cream. Lake Worth Municipal Swimming Pool is also very popular with its changing areas and bathrooms.

You can go fishing or take a long walk on the Municipal pier, enjoying the views of the ocean. You'll even find a sunscreen station with SPF50 sunscreen spray. It costs $2.00 per 43 seconds. The beach has walkways with benches, restrooms, oceanfront children play area, picnic area. Rentals for beach chairs, umbrellas, lounges and cabanas are available at beachservice.com. Make sure to keep an eye out for the "Little Free Library," a little colorful wooden box with a glass door and free books inside.

Venues and Events

Lake Worth Beach has seen much improvements in the last 10 years. The improvements began with the newly reconstructed Lake Worth Casino building in March of 2013. This building features wrap-around terraces and gorgeous views of the Atlantic ocean, beach, and surrounding areas.

It is the perfect venue for wedding and special events with it's 3,000 sq. ft. ballroom. Although the name suggests that you woudld find an actual casino with gambling in this facility, the site is gambling free.The name was kept as a historical reminder for the residents of Lake Worth.

The Shopping
